Ayia Anastasia Monastery Lapta
( Lapta ) Lapethos, thought to be the capita of n ancient kingdom, was constructed where today's Lapta is. The first inhabitants of Lambusa are thought to have moved there in 13th Century BC. The city was conquered by the Phoenicians in the 8th Century BC, but its most glorious times were during the Roman and Byzantine Periods. Some f the precious antiquities found in Lambusa are being displayed at the Nicosia Museum, but the rest are in the British Museum in New York, and in the Dumbarton oaks Collection in Washington DC.
